Raspatory

The raspatory is a surgical scraping instrument.

Its working part is rounded, tapering flat and sharply ground. With the raspatory, the soft tissue can be pushed off the bone and the periosteum ( the periosteum ) pushed away ("bone scraper"). This exposes the operating field for opening.

It is also used in dissection technology, including to remove muscles with a wide attachment .
