Rassemblement pour la Democratie et le Renouveau

Rassemblement pour la Démocratie et le Renouveau (RDR: "Union for Democracy and Renewal", English: Rally for Democracy and Renewal) is a political party in the island state of the Comoros .

The RDR was founded in October 1993 by President Said Mohamed Djohar , and emerged from several parties that supported Djohar, including Dialogue Proposition Action and Union des Démocrates pour le Développement . The new party won 28 of the 42 seats in the Union Assembly in the parliamentary elections in 1993 . After the election, the Secretary General of the RDR, Mohamed Abdou Madi , was appointed Prime Minister.

In December 1996, the party joined the Rassemblement National pour le Développement . It was later re-established and ran in the 2015 parliamentary elections, but did not win a seat in the Union Assembly.
