salt lake

The Raswal ( Russian Развал ) is a small salt lake on the southern outskirts of Sol-Ilezk in Orenburg Oblast in the Russian Federation . The lake is popularly called Soljonka (Солёнка, diminutive from Russian sol for "salt").

The water of the lake is denser than the human body because of the high salt content, so that one cannot go under while swimming. The lake has been developed for tourism since 2002, there are a number of restaurants, a beach disco, an amusement park on a neighboring freshwater lake (electric boats, water slides, etc.) and accommodation.

The guests are mainly spa vacationers from the entire region of the Russian Urals . The site directly on the lakeshore belongs to an investor from Moscow who has systematically expanded Lake Soljonka and the neighboring town of Sol-Ilezk into a health resort in recent years .
