from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Council for Scientific Dishonesty (Danish: Nævnet for Videnskabelig Uredelighed , English: The Danish Committee on Research Misconduct , DCRM) is a Danish institution established on July 1, 2017 to investigate fraud and falsification in science and dubious research practice. It reports to the Danish Ministry of Research . The basis for action is the Folketing's 2017 law on scientific abuse, etc. ( Lov om videnskabelig uredelighed mv , LOV nr 383), which in Section 3, Paragraph 3 defines as dishonest: "Forgery, falsification and plagiarism, either intentionally or grossly negligent in the planning, implementation or reporting of research activities ”.

The council emerged from the previously established Danish committees for dishonest conduct in science , the Udvalgene vedrørende Videnskabelig Uredelighed (UVVD) and The Danish Committee on Scientific Dishonesty (DCSD). He was already responsible for the cases Bjørn Lomborg , Anders Pape Møller , Helmuth Nyborg , Bente Klarlund Pedersen and Milena Penkowa . The current council no longer consists of three different committees, but of a chairman / president and 8-10 members from all areas of science. As an elected President is set to 2021 the judge and law - Professor Jens Hartig Danielsen .

As a way of action, petitions are made to the institution concerned and the council is then called upon. The parties concerned will be informed directly of the Council's decision, and its results will be published anonymously online. Council reports are published annually.
