The Town Hall Neuwerk located in the district Neuwerk in Mönchengladbach ( Nordrhein-Westfalen ), Liebfrauenstraße 50/52.

The building was built in 1905/1907. It was entered under No. L 013 on September 24, 1985 in the monuments list of the city of Mönchengladbach .

architecture

The town hall can be seen as an architectural accent in the center of Neuwerk at the confluence of Liebfrauenstrasse and Dünner Strasse. The property is a two-storey rough plastered building on a low basement base with a mansard hipped roof . The building was erected in 1905/1907 by the building authority of the Neuwerk municipality in forms influenced by Art Nouveau , arranged on the eaves side along Liebfrauenstrasse and, on the narrow side facing away from Dünner Strasse, angled extended to the adjoining garden by a two-and-a-half-storey adjoining side wing with a rear front.

The object in a comparatively simple, but with economical means, skillfully created building from the period after 1900 in a characteristic design language, is worth preserving for reasons of local history, urban planning and architectural history.
