Kaunas Town Hall Square
The Town Hall Square Kaunas ( Lithuanian Kauno Rotušės aikštė ) is the oldest square in Lithuania 's second largest city Kaunas . It is located in the historic old town . The Peter and Paul Cathedral , the Jesuit Church with the Jesuit grammar school and the historic town hall are located on the Rathausplatz .
history
In the 15th century there were nine wax melting tanks (ovens) here. One has been exhibited as an exhibit since 2002. In the Middle Ages there were many fairs and markets on the market square . Today various cultural events take place here, especially before Christmas.
