The Kaunas Jesuit High School ( Lithuanian Kauno jėzuitų gimnazija ) based in Kaunas is a Jesuit- run higher education institution for boys and girls.

history

The Jesuit high school in Kaunas was founded by Jesuits in 1649. In the following centuries it was repeatedly closed in connection with politico-national or ideological measures of repression directed against Lithuanian identity or Christian faith. The last reopening of the Kaunas Jesuit High School took place in 1991.

The Jesuit high school Kaunas sees itself in the Jesuit educational tradition . Architecturally, it forms the southern end of the historic town hall square in the old town of Kaunas, together with the directly adjacent Jesuit church .
