As rattan or rattan mostly climbing growing representatives of several genera of the palm family called. Many of them are suppliers of the raw material rattan . The rattan palms include species of the following genera:

These are the representatives of the two sub-tribes Plectocomiinae and Calaminae within the tribe Calameae .
