Ravensburg plays
Ravensburgspiele has been an annual games festival in Ravensburg since 1989 . The festival takes place on the weekend before school starts in September on the streets and squares of the old town. In addition to the opportunity to play, new games are always presented. In the early years most of the games at the event were demonstrated and sold. Today the visitors are actively involved and they are involved in shows and playing along.
As the headquarters of Ravensburger AG, Ravensburg is known worldwide for games, puzzles and children's books. The festival is not an event of this group of companies, but is organized by the City of Ravensburg in cooperation with the Wirtschaftsforum pro Ravensburg eV. Until 2004 the festival was organized and co-organized by game inventor Bertram Kaes , who, together with Heiner Wöhning, had the idea for the game festival at the international game days in Essen in 1985 . The event has been organized by Gerold Häring from geXcom since 2005. This is supported every year by numerous partners, associations and more than 100 volunteers.
