Raviv Gazit

Raviv Gazit (* 1949 in Tel Aviv ) is an Israeli composer.

Life

Gazit had piano lessons from the age of seven. After serving in the army from 1967 to 1970, he played the electronic organ in various Israeli rock bands. In 1971 he began studying electrical engineering at Tel Aviv University , after which he worked as a translator of specialist literature.

In 1980 Gazit began studying composition with Yizhak Sadai , where he became interested in the possibilities of computer music , especially with the advent of the Synclavier system . At the same time he wrote his first film and theater music as well as compositions such as Zee for Synclavier (1986). He began to teach computer-aided composition at Tel Aviv University and succeeded Yizhak Sadai as director of the computer music center that he founded.
