Re Niliu

Re Niliu is an Italian band founded by Sergio di Giorgio and Ettore Castagna . They have been performing since 1979 and their lyrics are in Calabrian, Albanian or Greek .

For the first five years they documented and published, among other things. a. the Zampogna tradition, which is part of the music of their Calabrian region of origin. This was followed by a turn towards combining traditional music with modern arrangements . Their music combines folk traditions - such as world music , rocking bass, rhythm and urban sounds.
