Readymades belong to everyone is an exhibition project that originated in 1987 in New York City . The French artist Philippe Thomas (1952–1995) transformed the Cable Gallery in New York into an agency in 1987 , which he called readymades belong to everyone® . All aspects involved in the creation, exhibition and dissemination of a work of art (the work itself, the artist, the public, the galleries, museums, etc.) were communicated and represented by the agency. The exhibition project took place in 1994 in the Musée d'art moderne et contemporain (Geneva) and in 1995 in the Museu d'Art Contemporani de Barcelona .
