Real Data Transport (RDT) is a proprietary transport protocol for audio and video data that was developed by RealNetworks in the 1990s . It is often used in conjunction with a control protocol for streaming media such as the Real Time Streaming Protocol of the IETF used.

A non-proprietary alternative to RDT is the IETF's Real-Time Transport Protocol .
