Real Maryland FC is a former American football - Franchise of the USL Premier Development League in Rockville , Maryland .

The team was founded in 2007 and has been playing in the USL PDL , the fourth highest division in the USA , since the 2010 season . From 2008 to 2010 the Monarchs played in the USL Second Division , which was the third highest division at the time. It was discontinued at the end of the 2012 season.

In the 2008 season, the home games were played in the Championship Stadium on the Maryland SoccerPlex. In 2009 they moved to Rockville, Maryland and played at Roy Lester Stadium, which is located on the grounds of Richard Montgomery High School.
