history
In November 2008 Kalypso Media founded Realmforge Studios GmbH. The already existing company Boxed Dreams , which at the time was the developer of the adventure Ceville , was fully integrated into the new company. Ceville was released on February 19, 2009 for Windows and iOS.
On February 23, 2010, MUD TV was released , an economic simulation in which you have to run a television station . The game is similar in some ways to the 1991 classic Mad TV . MUD TV received mixed reviews.
The real-time strategy game Dungeons was released at the beginning of 2011 and an independently running add-on called Dungeons: The Dark Lord was released in the autumn of the same year . Both the game and the add-on received mediocre reviews.
On May 4, 2012 the stealth action game Dark was announced, which was released on July 3, 2013 for Windows and Xbox 360 . Dark received mostly negative reviews from the trade press. Above all, the poor balance, as well as the poorly implemented atmosphere and plot were criticized.
In April 2015 the sequel to Dungeons, Dungeons 2 for Windows, MacOS, Linux and the PlayStation 4 was released. The successor also received only mediocre ratings.
Dungeons 3 , the third part of the Dungeons series, followed on October 13, 2017 . The game appeared on Windows, macOS, Linux, PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One. It received mediocre to positive reviews and is said to be the best part in the Dungeons franchise.
