RealSports Volleyball is a sports simulation released in 1982 for the Atari 2600 . It is the only volleyball game ever released for this game console . In 2010 it was re-released as part of the Game Room for Microsoft Windows and Xbox 360 .
Gameplay
The aim of this beach volleyball simulation is to be the first to score 15 points, be it against a teammate or the AI . Each team consists of two characters. There are no sets , but you need two points to win the game round. If necessary, there is an extension until one of the players has achieved the necessary lead.
There are two game modes (with and without a pass , single or multiplayer). In addition, the speed of the ball can be adjusted. In the course of the game the sun wanders across the screen and when it gets dark the shadow of the ball, which can serve as orientation, is no longer visible. Thus, the level of difficulty increases with good players.
Reviews
The game was apparently not discussed further in the contemporary German press, with the exception of Tele Action 4/83, where no rating was given. The game receives 8.2 / 10 stars on the German website Atari Computermuseum. The website Nexgam gives users a rating of 7.3 points.
According to AtariAge, the game scores 82% on Video Game Critic and 56% on MobyGames .
Remarks
The working title was Enhanced Volleyball . The cover art is by Terry Hoff .
After a certain playing time you can see a boat or the fin of a shark on the surface of the sea as a small Easter egg .
