Rebellion is a German power metal band. Rebellion started when Uwe Lulis left the band Grave Digger in 2000. With him Tomi Göttlich founded the band Rebellion as the writer of Grave Digger.

history

The first album, Shakespeare's Macbeth - A Tragedy in Steel , was a concept album about William Shakespeare's work Macbeth , which was well received by the fans because it deals with the play Macbeth in its entirety and was technically impressive. In addition to music, the album also contains speech passages. The music genre is Power / Heavy Metal .

The second album, Born a Rebel , contains far more pure heavy metal lyrics and is a bit slower, more direct and significantly rougher than its predecessor, which was more power metal-heavy. Rebellion mainly deals with motorcycles, metal , war and religion in their second album .

In 2005, the first part of a trilogy called The History of Vikings appeared with the name Sagas of Iceland - The History of the Vikings Volume 1 . On December 15, 2006, the new single Miklagard from the second part of the trilogy was released, which was released on February 23, 2007 and is called Miklagard - The History of the Vikings Volume 2 . Musically, Rebellion are based on the previous album, whereby - apart from the single - somewhat harder and faster songs are played.

After several postponements, the third part and thus the conclusion of the Viking trilogy Arise: From Ginnungagap to Ragnarök - The History of the Vikings Volume III was published on July 24, 2009.

At the end of December 2010, Uwe Lulis left the band. At the same time, Gerd Lücking and Simone Wenzel announced their departure. In February 2011, Oliver Geibig, who already plays with Tomi Göttlich in the band Magic of Radio , was introduced as the new guitarist, and Stephan Karut later joined as the second guitarist. Drummer David Faifer only had a short interlude in 2011 because the organizational hurdles made it impossible to move from the Czech Republic to Germany. Matthias Karle joined him in the same year.

On October 26, 2012, Arminius Furor Teutonicus released a new album after more than three years.
