tasks

The RZF NRW is one of five KONSENS development locations in Germany. The IT service provider is in charge of developing applications in the areas of tax assessment, audit services and enforcement for the federal states' financial administrations. RZF is also responsible for the pioneering introduction of the electronic income tax card.

E-government solutions are created in association with the other federal states . The best-known application that enables electronic communication between citizens and the financial administration is ELSTER . In the course of digitization, every paper-based message is gradually being replaced by a machine process. This is achieved through the KONSENS notification procedure, which is part of the risk management system (RMS) in the KONSENS project. It is a key task in the RZF (see also pre-filled tax return ).

In addition, the RZF NRW is responsible within the tax administration of North Rhine-Westphalia for:

  • Purchase of hardware and software (procurement),
  • Printing, enveloping and sending of tax assessments (over 15 million letters annually),
  • Central production,
  • Communication services (e.g. e-mail, IP telephony) and
  • Application development.
