history

The RFF was the successor to the magazine FilmGeschichte, which was published from 1991 to 2005 . Analogous to the expansion of the Filmmuseum Berlin to the Museum für Film und Fernsehen, the range of topics for the new periodical has also been expanded. The RFF was dedicated to media history topics and current events, productions and trends. Each issue had a thematic focus: "Nachspiel DDR" (Issue 1/2007), "Media: Competence - Consumption - Mediation" (Issue 2/2007), "The Year 1968" (Issue 3/2008), "Olympic Variations" (Issue 4/2008), "Filmarchive und Digitisierung" (Issue 5/2009), "Film-Medizin" (Issue 6/2009), "On exhibiting" (Issue 7 + 8/2010). There were also a number of permanent sections and a review section for books and DVDs. A booklet consisted of about 70 pages.

The editor was Rainer Rother, the artistic director of the Kinemathek.
