Red Wings Airlines flight 9268 was a Red Wings Airlines flight from Pardubice Airport ( Czech Republic ) to Moscow Wnukowo Airport . During the approach for landing on December 29, 2012, the machine shot over the runway and raced onto the motorway behind it. The flight was a positioning flight , there were eight crew members and no passengers on board.

The Tupolew Tu-204-100 (serial number 047) was built in 2008 and delivered to Red Wings Airlines in December 2008. By the time of the accident, the machine had made more than 6,800 flight hours on almost 2,500 flights.
Flight history
The Tupolev Tu-204-100 with aircraft registration RA-64047 took off from Pardubice Airport at 11:10 a.m. local time. When landing on runway 19 at 16:33 local time, the machine did not come to a standstill, it got over the runway at high speed and hit the embankment of the adjacent M3 motorway . The aircraft broke in three parts and wreckage damaged cars driving by on the highway. A video of the vehicle camera installed in one of the cars , which was published on YouTube , shows the impact. The captain, the co-pilot, the flight engineer and a flight attendant were killed in the accident. Another flight attendant died a day later as a result of her injuries. Three other inmates were injured, some seriously. The airport was closed after the incident and incoming flights were diverted to Moscow Domodedovo Airport. The flight recorders were recovered by the emergency services and given to the Intergovernmental Aviation Committee for evaluation.
