Red Flag Line
Red Flag Line , English for line of red flag is an on Rundstrecken usually near the finish line mounted transverse to the track, 20 cm wide red line, the discontinuation of the race by the Red flag as stop line for the leading vehicle serves. In exceptional cases, the drivers should go to the pit lane. There is a separate red flag line in the pit lane, which does not have to be exactly the same as the one on the start-finish straight.
The regulations for the parc fermé do not apply behind the Red Flag Line; the vehicles may be looked after and ordered. In the event of a restart, the Red Flag Line will start an introductory lap behind the safety car .
On some racetracks, the Red Flag Line is well away from the finish line; in the Autódromo José Carlos Pace, for example, at the entrance to turn 1, after the braking point.
