The Red Sentinel is an ornamental apple that is up to six meters high. It is also known as the Red Christmas Apple; its Latin name is: ruber custos .
The Red Sentinel is self-pollinating and therefore does not need another apple tree in its vicinity. Its fruits , which are edible and quite tasty, reach a diameter of 2 to 2.5 centimeters and are red to orange in color. Flowering time is from April to May, harvest time in October.
