Redimi2

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Redimi2 or Redimido (real name Willy González Cruz ; born June 3, 1979 in Santo Domingo ) is a Christian reggaeton and hip hop artist.

Life

The statements about the life of the artist are essentially based on non-verifiable self-statements. William grew up in the slums of the capital of the Dominican Republic . He lived in a two-room apartment with his mother and four brothers. When Willy was eight, two of his four brothers started drug dealing. One evening the bodies of the two brothers were found, after which Willy and his one year older brother Gustavo are said to have converted to Jesus Christ . On Willy's 16th birthday a gang war broke out in the slum and his brother Ricardo was killed by a stray bullet, whereupon his mother is said to have taken her own life. Now the two brothers struggled alone through the hard life of the ghettos in Santo Domingo. Redimido wrote his first texts at the age of 18. He gained his first stage experience in the local parishes. He was discovered by Manny Montes in 2005 when he was giving a concert in a Christian community in Santo Domingo. William was his opening act, because Redimi2 was already very well known in his hometown. That same year, Redimi2's debut was made, produced by Manny Montes and producers on his label A Fueguember Music . This made Redimi2 better known, at least in America.
