Redrum 327 is a Manhwa by the Korean draftsman Ko Ya-seong .
In it, the author describes the experiences of a group of seven students, some of whom have known each other since childhood, and who decide to spend some time together in a remote house in the mountains. Relationship problems and tensions are inevitable there. In addition, some of the friends seem to have dark pasts.
Characters
Jeongun: The boy is the group's self-proclaimed playboy . The son of a well-known designer feels irresistible himself and is after every skirt. In reality, however, he's a pretty sleazy guy. Since Jeongun and Gihu's parents once had a business argument with each other, he does not speak well of Gihu.
Jueun: The parents of the beautiful but dismissive girl own a huge company that Jueun is supposed to head. However, Jueun behaves rather coolly towards the others and starts fighting all the time, especially with Bagha and Jeongun. But behind the cool facade is a fragile girl who only longs for love. When Gahwi appears, she only sees her as a rival.
Bagha: The apparently cool boy is the singer of a hip-hop band that is quite popular in the underground. This makes him one of the few in the group who can stand on their own two feet and earn their own money. Bagha always seems to be annoyed by the others and accordingly withdraws to a corner to listen to music in peace. Bagha thinks he knows Gahwi.
Taein: The nice boy seems to be the most normal of the group. Since his father is a professor and his mother is a scientist, he is very educated. Hyeri is in love with him, but he doesn't seem to notice. But he seems to have feelings for Gahwi.
Hyeri: The nice girl is the daughter of a minister. She is Gahwi's best friend and she also brings them into the group. Hyeri is in love with Taein, but doesn't dare to tell him. However, when she catches Gahwi and Taein hugging each other, she goes crazy and wants to leave that evening. After she has packed the car, however, she is knocked down by an unknown person and locked and gagged in the cold store.
Gihu: The shy boy didn't join the group until he was at university. Unlike the others, he is not a son from a wealthy family, but an orphan adopted by a wealthy family. The others always seem to push Gihu around because of this. Jeongun in particular always annoys him because of his origins. The house in the mountains belongs to his adoptive parents.
Gahwi: The daughter of a doctor was born in Korea, but grew up temporarily in France, where she studied design. She has returned to Korea to study medicine as she is supposed to follow in her father's footsteps. She came to the group shortly before the meeting through Hyeri. However, she must have had a bad experience in the past that she cannot remember. However, she is repeatedly plagued by flashbacks , after which she is afraid and can hardly breathe. She is also afraid of the dark and being locked in, and one night in the kitchen she even collapses.
backgrounds
The title is a reference to Stephen King's novel Shining , in which a family spends some time alone in a secluded, snowy hotel and slowly goes mad. Redrum is the English word Murder (Eng. "Mord") read backwards. 327 is a hotel room in Shining .
Publications
Redrum 327 was published in Korea from 2003 to 2004 by Daiwon- Verlag in three paperback volumes. The Manhwa was published in France and Germany, among others. The German version of the Manhwas was published in full from May to December 2005 by Egmont Manga and Anime in the publisher's adult label.
