Redwood is a five-piece Swiss rock band from Zurich that formed in 1993 and played from 1998 to September 2008 with an unchanged line-up. The band consists of lead singer Nicole chamber man since early 2009 guitarist Dino deck and Mark Lim, the bassist Alex Lim and the drummer Francesco Gasparini.
history
The beginnings of the band Redwood go back to the early 1990s, when Mark Lim was making music with his brother Alex and school friends. First appearances took place in 1991. In terms of style, the focus was on hard rock, heavy metal and grunge. The lead singer was Mark Lim. The guitarist Angie Tenzer left the band after a few years.
The band played a club tour through the USA in 2000, during which their tour bus burned down. In 2007 they opened the Badenfahrt . During the recording of We're All Gonna Die , their tour bus burned down again and since a camera happened to be running, they released the soundtrack as the last track on the album.
Fat Chance from the album "We're All Gonna Die" was the most frequently played Swiss song in December 2007.
After a concert in Zurich on September 14, 2008, Lesley Meguid left the band in friendship to record an album with her husband in New Zealand .
At the beginning of 2009 the band presented Nicole Kammermann as the new lead singer on their website, who had previously released several albums with the Zug formation “Eyelash” and, in addition to Redwood, will apparently continue to sing for the duo “Of Queens and Rats”. She has already been on stage with the brothers Lim and Lesley Meguid.
On April 6, 2009, the new line-up gave their first concert as the support act for the Australian rock band AC / DC .
Who We Are from the album "Of Butterflies and Hurricanes" made it into the top 30 of the airplay charts.
