Reepschießer

As Reepschießer one of the two was shipboy in the herring scavengers the logger fishing denotes that the Reep unrolled in obtaining in Reepraum (aufschoss).

The ships of the herring catchers were loggers that initially fished the herring in the driftnet as sailing loggers , then as steam or motor loggers . The net was floating in the water and pulled the logger behind it on the connecting rope, the Reep.
