Quartel

Quartel , also Quarte, was a grain measure in France and a wine measure in Germany .

Individual relationships to other units of measurement were

  • 1 fuder = 3072 quarters
  • 1 now = 354 quarters
  • 1 muid = 192 quarters
  • 1 measure = 4 quarters
  • 1 Seidel = 2 quarters

Quartel was also used in logger fishing to describe a section of the herring drifting net with around 15 linked individual nets.
