Referendum in Algeria in 1962

The 1962 Algerian referendum to accept the Évian Treaties was held in French Algeria on July 1, 1962.

This was followed by the adoption of the agreement in a French referendum in April 1962. The result was that 99.72% of Algerians welcomed the agreement and 0.28% were against it. The turnout was 91.88%. As a result of the adoption, the French colonial power declared Algeria independent on July 3rd.
