The Reformed Church (also: Reformierte Kirche am Markt ) is a church in Radevormwald ( Oberbergischer Kreis ) in North Rhine-Westphalia .

history

In 1050 Radevormwald was first mentioned as a property of Werden Abbey . The parish church was first mentioned in 1310 as consecrated to St. Gangolf . In 1540 the Reformation was introduced to the church . In the period that followed, the Reformed were able to prevail over the Lutherans . After the final establishment of a Reformed congregation at the church in 1591, the Lutherans had to attend church services in Remlingrade until they could build their own church in 1707.

Today's Reformed Church replaces the previous medieval building and was built in 1804 as a baroque hall church with a barrel vault and a four-story western tower with an onion dome.
