The Reformed Church of Santa Trinita (Italian for "Holy Trinity") in Castasegna in the Bregaglia on the border with Italy is a Protestant - Reformed church under protection of the canton of Grisons . Next to her there is another Reformed church in the village, San Giovanni .

History and equipment

The church of Santa Trinità was built after the end of the turmoil in Graubünden in 1658–60 as a large sacred building in the Baroque style and replaced the church of San Giovanni Battista, which had become too small for the many newly settled religious refugees from Italy, as a preaching place. The tower has an octagonal tower and was built in 1675. The associated tower clock was installed in 1678.

In 1972, parts of the vault collapsed during renovation work. A decision was then made in favor of a new type of construction and against a historical copy. The church space that can be used for worship now forms the first floor of the building, while a parish hall is located on the ground floor.

Church organization

Castasegna and the other Reformed Bergell villages form the Bregaglia pastoral community . The Evangelical Reformed Regional Church of Graubünden conducts this within the Colloquium VII Engiadin'Ota-Bregaglia-Poschiavo-Sursès .
