History and equipment

A church under the patronage of John was first mentioned in 1409. In 1552 Castasegna accepted the Reformation under Pietro Paolo Vergerio , so that the altars were removed from the churches and these were transformed into sermon churches . An altar from 1421 consecrated to John the Baptist was taken from San Giovanni . The church was last renovated in 2001, with the foundation of the church being insulated against water damage.

The richly decorated pulpit is hexagonal and made of walnut wood. It dates to the year 1761. In the course of the renovation in 1965, it was lowered and moved a little.

Church organization

Castasegna belongs with the other Reformed Bergell villages to the parish of Bregaglia, which was formed on January 1, 2011 from the previous pastoral community . The Evangelical Reformed Regional Church of Graubünden conducts this within the Colloquium VII Engiadin'Ota-Bregaglia-Poschiavo-Sursès .
