The Reformed Church Wängi is a listed Evangelical - Reformed church in Thurgau Wängi .
history
In 1401 the Kirchenhöri (old Alemannic word for parish ), presumably formed in the early Middle Ages, came to the Tobel Commandery of the Order of St. John . Following the adoption of the Reformation by a majority of the population Wängis the old church until 1958 from both denominations equal number used as a place of worship.
This simultaneous use was terminated in 1958 by a contract with the Roman Catholic parish. The Evangelical Parish bought all rights to the old church, while the Catholics built the Church of St. John in the immediate vicinity .
The chime from 1958 reflects history: four bells have been replaced by newly cast ones, the oldest from 1430 continues to ring.
