refraction
Refraction ( Latin re = 'back' and frangere = 'break') stands for:
- Refraction of light, sound or other waves in general, see Refraction (physics)
- a measure of the refractive power of the non-accommodated eye, especially in ophthalmic optics and ophthalmology, see refraction (ophthalmic optics)
- the deflection of light by the inhomogeneous earth atmosphere
