Regens (linguistics)
Regens (from Latin regere ~ rule) is an expression of grammar and in the general sense denotes a unit from which a rejection relationship proceeds, i.e. usually a case assigner . The opposite is the rectum . In more specific terms, in the grammar of dependence, a ruling element or member is called from which a dependency relationship proceeds, i.e. on which an element other than dependency depends.
