The Regimentbüchlein (also Regimentbuch ) was the directory of the authorities and administrative employees of the city ​​and republic of Bern that was published annually from 1707 to 1837 .

The regiment booklet appeared in Bern between 1707 and 1837 under various titles ( New Regiment Booklet [...] (1716–1746), Regiment Booklet [...] , Regiment Booklet [...] (1763–1764), Renewed Regimentbuch [...] (1765–1797)) and in various printing houses, for example with Niklaus Emanuel Haller , in the authoritative printing house , with Emanuel Hortin, with Samuel Küpfer (1687–1765) and with Rudolf Albrecht Haller (1739–1800) . For the years 1763 to 1790 there is also a French edition under the title Almanac pour l'année bissextile [...] contenant enfin l'état de la République de Berne . In the 18th century, several editions appeared side by side, for example in 1719 the regiment book appeared both in the official printing house and by Samuel Küpfer (1687–1765). In 1729, Emanuel Hortin published a register similar to the regimental book under the title Vollkommnes Staats-Register or register of all high class members of the Hoch-Loblicher Stadt Bern in the upper printing works .

The last edition of the City and Republic of Bern was published on Easter 1797, a Bernese Regimentbüchlein was published for 1798 . Official and administrative registers for the years 1799, 1801 and 1802 are also documented, in 1804 the regiment book appeared on the laudable canton of Bern's secular and spiritual constitution , from 1805 to 1817 the title Renewed Regiment Booklet [...] , from 1818 to 1830 it was called Renewed regiment book [...] and from 1831 to 1837 regiment book of the Republic of Bern [...] . The successor magazine was called the Bernese State Calendar (until 1846) or the Bernese State Calendar , since 1974 the State Calendar of the Canton of Bern . The years 1818 to 1846 were published by the Stämpfli printing company .

The regimental books appeared in various forms, partly as a writing calendar, with astrological and meteorological information, a list of the annual fairs and the state of Bern Secular and Spiritual Constitution , a list of the members of the Small and Large Council (the regiment, sorted by gender) and the judicial authorities , Chambers and commissions, the bailiffs, offices and services , the parishes, helpers and schools. The regimental booklet was sold as a paperback and included according to customer requirements. Often the editions are shot through and contain culturally significant notes from their owners.

A complete state collection of the regimental books has not survived. The incomplete series available in the Bern State Archives and the Bern Citizens' Library were compiled from pertinence holdings .
