Regina Betancourt

Regina Betancourt de Liska , also known by her stage name Regina 11 (born December 16, 1936 in Concordia (Antioquia) , Colombia ) is a Colombian politician and self-proclaimed mentalist , mystic and alleged spiritual healer .

Life

Regina de Jesús was born on December 16, 1936, the youngest of 18 children of Juan de Dios Betancourt and Ermilia Ramírez. At 17 she married Luis Restrepo with whom she had four daughters. Restrepo died in 1959. In 1969 she married the American adventurer Daniel Jay Liska Tikalsky, with whom she had a daughter. In 2004 she married William Coraline; the marriage was divorced again in 2006.

politics

As the first woman in Colombia, she founded her own party, the Movimiento Unitario Metapolítico . For the party, she sat in the city parliament of Bogotá , in the provincial parliament of Cundinamarca and from 1991 to 1994 in the upper house of the Congress of the Republic of Colombia . In the Colombian presidential election in 1994, it achieved the fourth-highest share of the vote with 1.11%.

work life

Betancourt de Liska published over 20 books on metaphysical and spiritual subjects. At times she worked as a TV presenter and hosted a daily radio talk show.
