Regine Hermann

Regine Hermann (* 1965 in Horb am Neckar ) is a German opera, operetta, lied and concert singer ( soprano ) as well as a doctor and voice trainer.

Life

Regine Hermann studied singing from 1984 to 1989 in Stuttgart at the University of Music and Performing Arts with Grace Hoffmann and Julia Hamari . From 1989 to 1990 she studied singing and opera school at the Conservatorio di Giuseppe Verdi in Milan.

After completing her vocal training, Regine Hermann received a permanent engagement (1991–1994) at the Darmstadt State Theater. After that, the soprano worked as a freelance opera singer in Verona, Catania, Toulouse, Baden near Vienna, etc. From 2001 to 2007 she had an engagement at the Musiktheater im Revier, Gelsenkirchen. There she sang the Mimi in La Bohème, Donna Anna in Don Giovanni, the Countess in Figaro and Rosalinde in the Fledermaus. For the seasons 2000/2001, 2003/2004 and 2004/2005 she received the theater award of the theater community Gelsenkirchen.

As a much-booked song and concert singer, she has worked with renowned orchestras such as the Munich Philharmonic, the Dresden State Orchestra, the Bamberg Symphony, the Munich Radio Orchestra as well as numerous radio orchestras in cities such as Rome, Venice, Prague, Budapest, Berlin, Munich and Nice , Salzburg and Vienna.

Her repertoire includes the great oratorios by JS Bach and Mendelssohn-Bartholdy as well as the masses by Mozart and Schubert. She has given numerous gala concerts in the Avery Fisher Hall, New York, the Kennedy Center in Washington, the Concerthall in Philadelphia, the Festspielhaus Baden-Baden and the Alte Oper Frankfurt.

In addition to her extensive artistic obligations, the soprano studied medicine from 2003 to 2010 at the University of Essen-Duisburg and passed her state examination in 2010. In January 2011 she received her license to practice medicine. As an opera singer and doctor, Regine Hermann has extensive expertise in the field of diseases, functional disorders and voice resilience. Since 2008 she has been running training courses in cooperation with Franco Fussi, Ravenna, Italy. In addition to her own practice in Bochum, she has been working in a general medicine practice in Essen Stadtwald since November 2019.

In addition to German, Regine Hermann speaks English, Italian and French. She lives in Essen, is married and has a daughter.
