Canon Regulars of Lagrasse
The regular canons of Lagrasse , Chanoines Réguliers de la Mère de Dieu (Regular canons of the Mother of God), are an ancient ritual Catholic religious order.
Originally the community of Lagrasse Abbey belonged to the Congregation of the Chanoines réguliers de Marie Mère du Rédempteur . An independent abbey since 1997 , it finally became an independent religious order in 2004, subordinate to the Bishop of Carcassonne-Narbonne .
The female branch is the Chanoinesses de la Mère de Dieu in Gap .
