Reichsrayonkommission

In the German Empire, the Reichsrayonkommission was a court-like authority in Berlin , which decided in the second instance on appeals against building restrictions that were enacted on the basis of the Reichsrayon Law.

The Reichsrayonkommission was appointed by the emperor in accordance with Section 31 of the Reichsrayon Law. It consisted of high-ranking military personnel from the member states who had fortresses.

The military authorities described the restrictions on property owners in the fortress paleons in the rayon plan and rayon cadastre . Objections to this could be lodged with the local fortress commanders. Appeals to the Reichsrayonkommission were possible against decisions of the fortress commanders .
