The history of the sports club goes back to the year VfR Reideburg was founded in 1912. In 1924, the cycling association Freie Radler Reideburg was founded . After 1945, the soccer, cycling and bowling sections merged to form the new joint association “Genossenschaft Halle”, which was renamed Tractor East after 1949 . From 1972 the Landsportgemeinschaft Reideburg competed with the "Radsportler Saalradsport". Today's club is a member of the Association of German Cyclists through the Saxony-Anhalt State Cycling Association . He plays with the 1st women's team (Halle Lizards) in the 1st cycle polo Bundesliga and was German runner-up in women's cycle polo in 2015 and 2019 . In the past, the men's cycling teams of the RSV played in the German cycling league. In 2019 they were the season winners of the 2nd Bundesliga North, but failed in the promotion round to the 1st Bundesliga. In the age groups of the pupils, the RSV provided Saxony-Anhalt state champions and cup winners and regularly takes part in the German indoor cycling championships.
The “Hallesche Bicycle Club” founded in 1882 established the hall cycling tradition in Halle. The cycle ball and cycle polo tradition in the Halle / Saalkreis region goes back to the 1930s. On August 2, 1930, the German championship in hall driving and cycling took place in Halle . Cycling has been practiced in Reideburg since the 1950s. On June 24, 1951, there was an indoor cycling event with "bike ball, round dance and art cycling". The then LSG Reideburg was five times GDR champion in cycling polo.
The training facility for cyclists has been the gym of the Reideburg primary school since the 1970s.
