The Reihersee in East Prussia ( Russian Правдинское водохранилище Prawdinskoje wodochranilishche , German 'Prawdinsk Reservoir' ) is a reservoir of all in the Kaliningrad Oblast in Russia . It extends from the southern outskirts of Prawdinsk south to the Polish border at Ryabinino .
history
The 30 km long lake was built in the years 1921–1923. He stored the water reserves for the power station near Friedland in East Prussia , which supplied northern East Prussia with electricity from 1924 to 1945 . In 1975 the hydropower plant was shut down. After its restoration, it went back into operation in 1999.
