Confidential Confessions

Confidential Confessions (Japanese 問題 提起 作品 集 , Mondaiteiki sakuhinshū , literally about “Collected Works on Problems”) is a series of short stories that have been published in the form of several anthologies. The independent episodes deal with problems faced by teenage girls such as suicidal thoughts, self-harming behavior, sexual harassment, prostitution and bullying. The original manga was published from 2000 to 2002 in the Kodansha publishing house's Dessert magazine . The series was first published in German by Tokyopop from 2004 to 2005 in 6 single volumes, before being reprinted in 3 double volumes in 2018.

Daisy

The Manga Daisy was also published in the magazine Dessert at Kodansha in 2012 (Japanese デ イ ジ ー 〜3.11 女子 高 生 た ち の 選 択 〜 , Deijī 〜3.11 joshikōsei-tachi no sentaku 11. , literally "Daisy - the decision of the March 11th high school girls") . This manga is based on the novel Pierrot by Teruhiro Kobayashi, Darai Kusanagi and Tomoji Nobuta. It tells the fictional story of a high school student from Fukushima-shi and the aftermath of the Fukushima nuclear disaster on her life and that of her school friends. Although they live far outside the radioactively contaminated evacuation zone, they have to struggle with problems such as fear of the long-term health effects of possible radiation, the relocation of many classmates to other prefectures, the decline of agriculture and tourism, which brings their parents into economic difficulties, or social exclusion by outsiders. The fate of those directly affected by the disaster from the evacuation zone is also discussed when the protagonists get to know the residents of a refugee home. In 2016 the publisher Egmont Daisy published in German in a volume under the title "Daisy from Fukushima". Part of the proceeds from book sales in this issue went as a donation to the project “Help for Japan” of the German-Japanese Society Dortmund in the Auslandsgesellschaft NRW eV, which, in cooperation with the Japanese organization “Okinawa Kuminosato”, runs holiday camps on Okinawa for children from Fukushima performed.
