Reinhard Mrosk (born March 7, 1955 ; various pseudonyms, including Reinhard Burger ) is a German writer .

Life

Reinhard Mrosk has worked in various professions, including abroad. He was involved in the construction of a gas pipeline, later he took on independent activities in the mineral oil trade and as a business consultant. He has been a freelance writer since 2009.

Reinhard Mrosk received the Peter Härtling Prize from the city of Weinheim in 1990 for the novel Der Wind und die Sterne , published under the pseudonym Reinhard Burger . Translations of this book have appeared in France, Spain and the Netherlands. Because a scientist of the same name had become publicly known in the meantime, he dropped the pseudonym Reinhard Burger and wrote several books under another or as a ghostwriter , including detective novels . From 2004 he also publishes under his real name. After evaluating a collection of previously unknown records from the estate of the writer Jonas Ludwig von Heß , who died in 1823 , he published , revised and edited his main work Hamburg - topographically, historically and politically described under the title Hamburg - Description of a City (for the first time in 200 years) extensively expanded. At the same time, he completed the reconstruction of a two-volume work on the history of Northern Germany, which Hess had announced in 1810 but never completed, as well as the completion of Hess's travelogues with material left behind by him.
