Reinhard Schomäcker

Reinhard Schomäcker (born January 8, 1959 in Rahden ) is a German chemist and professor of technical chemistry and multiphase reaction technology at the TU Berlin .

Life

Schomäcker studied chemistry at Bielefeld University , where he also received his doctorate in physical chemistry in 1987. From 1990 to 1996 he worked as a chemist at Bayer AG in Leverkusen. In 1992 he completed his habilitation in physical chemistry at the University of Cologne . In 1996 he was appointed professor at the TU Berlin. Schomäcker has been a member of the board of the Unifying Concepts in Catalysis (UniCat) cluster of excellence since 2007. Schomäcker conducts research in the field of reaction engineering, especially in the areas of reaction kinetics, the development of new reactors and process concepts as well as the control of the activity and selectivity of catalysts.
