Reinhold Friedrich von Löwis of Menar (born September 5, 1731 in Nurmis ( Livonia ), † April 29, 1794 in Kemmershof ( Valka )) was a Baltic nobleman of Scottish descent and Russian major general .

Life

His father was Johann Heinrich I von Löwis of Menar on Panten , Nurmis and Seyershof (1707–1748), the progenitor of the Baltic noble family Löwis of Menar , his mother was Anna Jakobina née von Taube (1712–1757). Reinhold Friedrich married Dorothea Elisabeth from the house of Clapier de Colongues (1744–1799) in 1764 , he is the progenitor of line A (Nurmis) . Her descendants were:

  • Alexander (1765–1830), Russian major , married. with Dorothea Elisabeth von Huene (1772–1846)
  • Barbara Helene (1766–1787)
  • Friedrich (1767–1824), Russian lieutenant general and Livonian land marshal
  • Peter Frommhold (1769–1829), Russian major
  • Andreas (1777–1839), writer and engraver, forestry and farmer
  • Juliane Charlotte (1786–1849), married to Karl Johann Hermann von Engelhardt († 1841)
