Reinhold Greisbach

Reinhold Greisbach (born August 31, 1955 ) is a German phonetician.

After studying mathematics with a diploma in 1982, he did a doctorate in phonetics in 1986 on the subject of the fundamentals of automating phonetic transcription: a theoretical and practical investigation . In 1996 he obtained the Venia Legendi with the habilitation thesis Experimental Test Methodology in Phonetics and Phonology: Investigations into segmental boundary phenomena in German .

He is the author of numerous publications on phonetic and phonological topics and exercises teaching activities and substitute professorships etc. a. at the Universities of Cologne, Osnabrück and most recently Frankfurt am Main. While working at the Institute for Phonetics in Frankfurt am Main, he set up the online-based databases Speech Card and The Voices of Frankfurt . Greisbach lives in Dormagen .
