Reinhold Humbold

Reinhold Humbold (* 1948 in Neuburg ad Donau ) is a German triathlete and duathlete .

Career

Humbold completed a commercial apprenticeship and was commercial manager in a freight forwarding company. After initially playing water polo, Humbold joined the triathlon in 1985. In the course of his career as an age group athlete, he has so far won 17 German championship titles, two European championship titles and six world championship titles over all distances. Humboldt achieved 103 podium places in national and international competitions, as well as 51 podium places in triathlon and duathlon competitions. He successfully completed over 200 competitions.

At the Ironman Hawaii in 2005 he was able to take first place in the AK55 in 9:47:29 hours and set a new age class record that lasted until 2012 ( see also: Ironman Hawaii age class records ). He set his best time on the Ironman distance (3.86 km swimming, 180.2 km cycling and 42.195 km running) at the European Championships in 1995 with 9:28:01 hours at the Jümme Triathlon . This makes Humbold the most successful German amateur and age group triathlete.

In 2015 he was able to win his age group 65-69 at the Ironman Hawaii in 11:53:39 hours.
