The area of responsibility of travel agency assistants extends from providing information and advice on trips and events of all kinds, arranging trips to Germany and abroad and looking after foreign tourists who come to Austria, to booking hotel rooms and flight tickets, and organizing travel routes and guides and information about exchange rates, foreign exchange regulations, visa, passport and vaccination regulations.
Travel agency assistants work closely with along with travel professionals, tourism professionals and tour guides .
education
The training takes place according to the dual system in the training company and accompanying this in the vocational school . The vocational school provides the theoretical background that is required for the successful exercise of the profession. The training period is 3 years.
conditions
Requirements for the travel agency assistant are IT skills, foreign language skills, a business understanding, sales talent, organizational skills and willingness to travel.
