The Reiseepeschen Verlag , based in Berlin, publishes travel books for explorers under the direction of founders Marianna Hillmer (literary scholar) and Johannes Klaus (graphic designer). In the year it was founded in 2018, the publisher won the wildcard for the Frankfurt Book Fair . The travel blog platform of the same name reisedepeschen.de continues to be the starting point on the Internet for narrative travel blog reports.

Publishing program

Reiseepeschen Verlag publishes illustrated books, reading books and, in the “Insider Tips from Friends” series, various travel guides that rethink topics, inspire you to travel to unusual destinations and help you discover countries differently. The concept is based on a cartographic and haptic design, which is why the books are only available in physical form. According to the principle of digital detox , no content is created that requires the reader to use the smartphone . The publisher positions itself in the field of conscious and sustainable travel. The first two travel manuals Germany in Winter and Der Inselguide Thailand as well as the reading book Roadtrip - A Love Story were launched on the Startnext platform with the help of a successful crowdfunding campaign.

Authors

The publisher works with selected travel bloggers and journalists who share their knowledge and experiences in the books. Up to 50 authors and travel bloggers are involved in the travel manuals. These include the Spiegel bestseller author Gesa Neitzel , the authors Anika Landsteiner and Melanie Schillinger, author Markus Steiner and television reporter Christoph Karrasch .
