Gesa Neitzel

Gesa Neitzel (born February 14, 1987 in Hildesheim ) is a German non-fiction author, former television editor and nature conservation entrepreneur.

Life

After graduating from high school in Hildesheim, she did an internship at MTV Networks . She moved from Hildesheim to Berlin and began an internship with a Berlin television production company. She then worked as an editor for various television stations and productions such as The Voice of Germany . In 2015 she trained as a safari guide and was trained as a ranger in the Kruger National Park .

Your experience report Breakfast with Elephants was on the list of Spiegel's non-fiction bestsellers for eleven weeks in 2016/17 . The book reached positions 7 to 20. In it she describes her experiences during her course to become a ranger in the largest game reserve in  South Africa . The second book was published in autumn 2019, The Wonderful Wild , a " nature writing " book about nature conservation , climate change and one's own spirituality .

Neitzel is now self-employed as a photo safari tourist guide with her South African partner. Half of the year she is in Africa, the other half in Germany.
